The job
Agent is a Support class, not a Power class. Default health is 125 and default speed is 107 percent. She cloaks with alternate fire, disguises as an enemy, backstabs with her knife, and disables Mechanic buildings with the Sapper. A Mechanic’s wrench or an Arsonist’s Hotwire removes a sapper.
She sees enemy names and health, which Doctor can also see. While disguised she can use the enemy Mechanic’s dispenser and teleporters, and sentries ignore her. She can fake a reload on weapons that use a clip. Flamethrower and Minigun do not use that fake reload.
Some knives cut her health before the round even starts: Icicle to 105, Swift Stiletto to 100, and Conniver’s Kunai to 100. The Kunai’s overheal cap is documented at 300 percent of her base health instead of the usual 150 percent. Do not equip a lower-health knife until the stock knife makes sense.
A single life, in order
- Cloak out of spawn. Do not decloak in front of the people you want to stab.
- Disguise as someone whose speed you can live with. Disguising as a Flanker keeps you at 107 percent. Disguising as a Brute drops you to 77 percent and you cannot pretend to rev a minigun.
- Prefer a target who is facing away and who matters: a Doctor, a Mechanic on his sentry, or a Marksman scoped in.
- If you cannot reach a back, sap the sentry and leave. A sapper on a building is useful even when the stab fails.
- Revolver is the gun for when the knife is the wrong tool. Use it on a low-health target who has already turned around.
How people catch you
Arsonist fire checks groups. Marksman’s rifle dot can collide with a disguised or invisible Agent. Teammates who walk into you, or who watch you fail to rev a minigun, will shoot. Turning around when you are not busy is the Annihilator tip aimed at you.
The movement and disguise details in the Agent videos are demonstrations, not a second set of damage numbers. Stats on this page are the class-table values.
